🐂 Citroen C5 1.6 Hdi Review
Economy is ridiculously good. Citroen claims a combined figure of 50mpg-plus, and we found it fairly easy to achieve this in normal driving. It’s a good option, if you’re not the type to get
The larger 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine tested here adds somewhat to the C5 Aircross' refinement levels. With 178hp and 400Nm of torque on tap, it doesn't have to work quite as hard as the more popular 1.5-litre unit will, although the larger engine does consume more fuel and emit more CO 2, which will make it costlier to
What are the dimensions of C5 Hatchback 2004 and its fuel capacity and the overall weight? Fuel Capacity. 66 litres. Weight. 1424kg. Length. 4745mm. Width. 1780mm.

The range kicks off with the 1.6-litre unit that's used extensively across the Citroen range. It's a 110bhp engine that takes a lengthy 13.4s to get the C5 up to 60mph but it feels faster than that thanks to torque of 240Nm from 1,750rpm. The DS5 is the sort of spaceship-silhouetted capsule we dreamed of riding in when we saw all those Giugiaro concept wagons of the 1980s. It's tall, but broad-shouldered and tapers to the back, so
A hybrid one, too. The C5 X is available powered by the group’s familiar 128bhp, 1.2-litre Puretech three-cylinder or the 178bhp 1.6-litre four. TG’s is the 225 e-EAT8 PHEV, which adds an 81kW
The 2.0 BlueHDi is no longer available, but was able to deliver 47.1mpg, with CO2 of 164g/km. If you opt for petrol power, the PureTech 130 engine returns a claimed 49.5mpg and emits 140g/km of
It's quiet, too. At a cruise that's down to well suppressed tyre noise, and on acceleration the engines keep their peace, though the combustion engines both manage 10.5 seconds or so from 0
The laminated glass, aerodynamics and extra door seals keep wind noise to a minimum, even at high motorway speeds.
